Google’s new flagship “the Pixel 9 series” was launched yesterday at Google’s event. The new series comprises three smartphones – Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro XL. They all are equipped with the company’s own Tensor G4 SoC alongside the Titan M2 security chip. The Pixel 9 gets a 6.3-inch Actua OLED display, the Pro model has a 6.3-inch Super Actua LTPO display and the Pixel 9 Pro XL offers you a 6.8-inch Super Actua LTPO display. Apart from all the useful and interesting features, the new series also has a collection of built-in wallpapers which users can set on the phone’s screen.

The Pixel 9 series’s smartphones run on Android 14 with seven years of OS updates and security patches. The Pixel 9 and its Pro variant have a 6.3-inch Actua OLED penal with up to 120Hz refresh rate. The Pixel 9 comes with a dual-rear camera setup that houses a 50MP Octa PD wide-angle sensor with a 1/1.31-inch image sensor. There’s a 50MP main Quad-HD ultra-wide-angle sensor. On the front, it provides a 10.5MP dual PD sensor for selfies and video calling.

The Pixel 9 Pro and 9 Pro XL arrive with a triple camera setup on the back including a 50MP Octa PD wide camera, a 48MP Quad PD ultrawide camera, and a 48MP QuadPD telephoto camera. Talking about selfie camera, both handsets have a 42MP Dual PD sensor with autofocus. Furthermore, Google Pixel 9 Pro packs a 4,700mAh battery while the Pixel 9 Pro model has a larger 5,060mAh cell.
All the smartphones feature an in-display fingerprint sensor for biometric authentication. Connectivity options are Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth v5.3, GPS, NFC, NavIC, GLONASS, and a USB Type-C port. The IP68 rating for water and dust resistance on all handsets. The notable sensors are an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, barometer, gyroscope, magnetometer, and proximity sensor.
