Asus has come with about 4 phone pads this season. Not to mention each one gets better. Well Asus tablets well-known for their low cost and impeccable specs. Today we are here to scan the freshly released tablet by Asus released this week, Asus Fonepad 7. So let’s get started.
For people who have already used Fonepad 7, this new version won’t seem very different. But this time the slippery back has been turned to a plastic sturdy one. Also the weight has been cut short a bit and now is 290 g. Well the wish of holding your tab with a single hand now comes true. It’s light weight and grip worthy.
This beautiful tablet has volume rocker and power button to the right and keeps the left slot for Micro SD and Micro SIM card. The 3.5 mm jack dwells on top. And the camera outshines at the rear with the dazzling Asus logo. The device is available in various colors, i.e. black, red, blue and white.
Display and Camera
Asus Fonepad 7 has a 7.0 inch wide screen with IPS LCD capacitive type screen with multi-touch and has a resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels. Step a second in sun and everything will go hazy, it’s very sun shy. Also it mentions anti finger coating property but that’s a paradox in itself. Put a finger on it and it will even trace the mitochondria of your cell.
The tablet has a 5 MP primary camera and 0.3 MP back camera and that’s where it fails. Pictures are hazy and unfiltered. Camera quality is damn cheap and I would declare it failed with camera!!!
Software and Hardware
Asus Fonepad 7 has 1.2 GHz Atom z250 dual core processor and a power VR SGX 544 MP GPU. It has integrated 1GB of RAM while the internal storage is 4 GB that can be expanded upto 64 GB using micro SD card. Asus Fonepad 7 also gives 5 GB storage in its very own web storage cloud.
For connectivity it has Bluetooth v.4.0 and wi fi b/g/n. The tablet has a non-removable Li-Po battery, 15 Wh. Voice calling feature has also been included. It come pre packed with Android 4.2 (Jelly bean)
Well Asus Fonepad 7 wins at one realm of consideration: cheap price. For anyone looking for something that is cheap and a genuine tablet then Asus Fonepad 7 is for you. But for people with already set tablet benchmarks you’re going to get disappointed. Asus!! Are you listening? The screen and camera needs some serious makeover!!!
